वृक्ष देतात - पाउस, पाणी, थंडावा, वृक्षच देतात अन्न वस्त्र आणि निवारा !
आणि सर्वात महत्वाचं म्हणजे वृक्ष शोषून घेतात वातावरणातला कार्बन.... त्यामुळे जास्तीत जास्त वृक्ष लावण्यासाठी पुढे आलं पाहिजे ''आपण'' !! वृक्ष लावून...पृथ्वीला संजीवनी द्यायची आहे आपण. म्हणूनच - आपलं यशवंतराव चव्हाण महाराष्ट्र मुक्त विद्यापीठ घेऊन येतंय एक नाविन्यपूर्ण उपक्रम .... ''योसो'' अर्थात
YCMOU’s One Student One Tree

Welcome to the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharahtra Open University's New Concept
हिरवे हिरवे गार गालिचे,
हरित तृणांच्या मखमालीचे,
कृतार्थ जीवन या वृक्षांचे,
प्राणवायूचे कोष धरेचे !
In this venture every student has to plant one tree. Nurture the tree for ever. This way he will immensely contribute to the environment. And after doing this, he will obtain incentive marks. A committee was formed under chairmanship of Dr. Dinesh Bhonde, Registrar, who is a carver of this innovative project. The committee designed the project. All of you are requested to participate in this noble project for our well being and better future of the next generation
Plantation of trees is a priority program globally. YCMOU has launched a similar project to execute with participation of its students.
The title of the project is YOSOT means YCMOU’s – One Student One Tree.
The students participating in this project shall plant one tree each. A photo of the plantation shall be uploaded through the special app developed by the university. Location of the tree shall be automatically recorded through the GPS linkage to the app. The student shall nurture the tree carefully. To ensure that he is taking care of the tree, he will upload it’s photos once every three months. The student successfully growing tree shall get incentive marks at the end of the year.

वृक्ष-वल्ली ही पृथ्वीची श्वसनसंस्था आहे जी भुतलावरिल मानवासह सर्व सजीवांच्या जगण्यात मोलाचे योगदान देते. त्यामुळेच जागतिक तापमान वाढ व हवामान बदल या सारख्या समस्यांना तोंड देण्याकरिता जास्तीत जास्त झाडे लावत रहाणे ही काळाची अत्यावश्यक गरज बनली आहे. या क्षेत्रात जगभरात अनेक चळवळी जोमाने कार्यरत आहेत. या विश्वहिताच्या महान कार्यात आपलेही योगदान असावे या उद्देशाने यशवंतराव चव्हाण महाराष्ट्र मुक्त विद्यापीठ, नाशिक यांचे मार्फत दिनांक १ जुलै २०२० पासून “YCMOU One Student One Tree (YOSOT) 2020” या योजनेचा शुभारंभ करण्यात आला.
Vision
आपल्या सभोवताली असणाऱ्या वृक्षसंपत्तीच्या अस्तीत्वाचे अनन्य साधारण महत्व पटवणे तसेच ती टिकविण्याच्या व वाढवण्याच्या प्रत्येकाच्या सामाजिक जबाबदारीचे भान सर्वांच्या मनात रुजवणे हा या योजनेचा मूळ उद्देश आहे. संपूर्ण महाराष्ट्र राज्य हे या विद्यापीठाचे कार्यक्षेत्र असल्याने राज्याच्या सर्व भागातून विद्यार्थी या विद्यापीठातील विविध शिक्षणक्रमांना प्रवेश घेतात. त्यामुळे आपोआपच ही योजना संपूर्ण राज्यभर व्यापकरित्या राबविली जाईल. विद्यापीठाच्या बहुसंख्य विद्यार्थ्यांच्या सहाय्याने महाराष्ट्राचे हरितकवच वृध्दिंगत करण्याचे उद्दीष्ट समोर ठेवून या विद्यापीठाने उचललेले हे पहिले पाऊल होय. YOSOT योजनेद्वारे विद्यार्थ्यांच्या मनात वृक्षारोपणाची आवड निर्माण करून त्यांना वृक्षांचे संरक्षण व संवर्धन या सामाजिक कर्तव्यांचे पालन करण्याची सवय लावणे हाच मानस आहे. दरवर्षी या योजनेत किमान ५ लाख विद्यार्थ्यांचा सहभाग मिळविण्याचे ध्येय विद्यापीठाने ठेवलेले आहे.
